Well, I am considering hitting the water sometime in the near future, and I am thinking about bait.
What do you use, and what works for you?

Liver for smaller cats, cut bait and bream for the bigger fish. I use a net to catch my live bait and what is used for cut bait. If you want a little added fun take an ultra lite and catch the bream.

go to the store and get the manager to give you a deal on the old frozen shrimp and let it sit in the sun on the deck of the boat and when you can smell it it's ready to use i trade the lady at the bait shop the shoftshell turtles i catch and she saves me all the dead minows which we let sit out till you can smell them but be careful i left a bag in the old ladies car and boy was i in the dog house ;D

Me and the wife went two years ago.The only bait she will use is Nightcrawlers, so we bought a box. Well, the fishing was slow, so we had a bunch left. We forgot they were in the car and they slid under the seat. About a week later we was wondering what that GODAWEFUL stink was in the car. We found it 2 days later. I have no words that will addaquatly describe this stink. Nothing i can think of. UGH!!! We have NEVER done that again.

Its funny, for a fish that will eat dang near anything there sure are alot of different ways to catch em. Rarly do I go out just to catfish, we usually jug line for them when we are camping. We throw a net for shad to use for channels and blues, perch for flatheads. theres a study being done on blue cats in Okla. the wildlife dept is asking us to throw back any blue over 5lbs because it takes so long for them to reach that size. You can check out that info at wildlifedepartment.com pretty interesting.

I have a little thing going. Maybe some of you guys can help test it.. I took a soft rubber weedless minnow, and cut a slot in the back, Then pacted the inside with CAT TUNA. The Flaked kind. Havent had the time to be able to fish it right for Cats.

I bet that would work. I think you could also try the toe of a pair of pantyhose filled with it wrapped around a hook and tied on..
