It's called Buckeye Burl. Some type of tree on the west coast. I was able to get to the range today and took the Sistema Colt along for it's first trial. First off it fed 230gr. FMJ and RN lead bullets without a hiccup, but it did not like the 200gr. flat nosed jacketed bullets. I did have a problem with the rear sight coming a bit loose, but that was an easy fix. The pistol handles like a dream. The extra weight keeps the recoil to a minimum by comparison with my Glock Mod. 36. Here's a photo of a 7 yard target and the handgun. Don

This is turning out to be a great pistol. Have you put new sights on it or decided on what you want if you havent?

Doc, I haven't changed the sights yet. Not really sure if I will. The tiny original sights are sufficient, but better ones would be nice. I found a set from a supplier by the name of Kings. I like the ones on the top of this page or the three dot set. Price isn't too bad either. www.kingsgunworks.com/newcatalog/page02.htmlDon

My new grips arrived today and I couldn't be happier. They really set the gun off nicely. These grips are made by Brian at Klamoth River Woodworks LLC. In all honesty my photography skills don't do them justice. Don
