I don't know squat about pig hunting and would love to go. Where, here in Middle TN would be the best area to approach landowners about their allowing one to pursue the little critters? Would a Marlin 30/30 be ample power to bring down the porker or is something larger best suited for the task? I know this is a dumb question but are they edible? Please don't hold my ignorance against inviting me pig hunting, unlike our VP I haven't shot anyone yet.

Yeah, the more the merrier. We had a blast last year. The ones that were shot were the victims of a .243, and I took a 30-06. So, yeah, I think a 30-30 would be just fine.

???Read story, my question is should I carry an extra pair of pants? I would like to go, it sounds like fun and if Doc goes it will be funny. What do think it will cost and exactly where are you going and will my heart condition cause a problem?
I have been told there are pigs in around the Holt's Corner area, Marshall Co., has anyone heard about Middle Tn pigs.

The permit is $5 and we usually all chip in on food. We also try to carpool if possible. Doc and I rode together last year and there will probably be some sort of riding arrangements made this next trip too once it gets close enough to know who all are going for sure. The cost really depends on you yourself. Whether you carpool or drive yourself. What you want to bring to eat and drink. etc. Here is a link for directions: www.nps.gov/biso/planyourvisit/directions.htmIt is in Scott Co. We will be staying at the Bandy Creek Campgrounds and I think it was like $7 a night for a camping spot and each spot can hold 3-4 tents and we just split that too. We may do like some of us did on our draw hunt and bring big tents to hold at least two people each and their gear.

If you can handle some hills with just your weight and a rifle, then your heart should be ok. We can handle a drag if need be. I didnt get winded walking until there were pigs attached to the end of a rope. It is a fun time, whether you kill a hog or not.

I looked at the web site and printed a map, which campground do you use?

We use the Bandy Creek Campground. It has several spots and we just pick one that is open, which is usually the whole thing.

Sounds good to me, does Julian make a good latte?

Hell I make coffee! Latte's are for city folk, $5 and I can call it a latte? A frozen burger, fried bread and luke warm coffee are luxuries where I am from.
