Everyone say a prayer for him. He was hunting yesterday and was about to get out of his ladder stand when he fell. He had just undone his safety harness and lowered his bow down when the leg on his chair broke and he fell 12ft. He broke 3-4 ribs and his wrist in several places. I talked to him last night after he left the hospital and he is in good spirits but in some pain. He wont be able to bow hunt this year again, but the docs are saying that he should be ok by rifle season.

Prayers sent. If you speak with him soon please send him all our best wishes for a speedy recovery. Might be a good time for everyone else to check their equipment before going out hunting again. One of us down is one too many so we don't want anyone else hurt. Don

Prayers to him and his family. Hope he gets better soon. That's something that is always in the back of my mind whenever I'm in a stand.

Thanks guys for your prayers. I will go in on Friday to have my radius bone pinned back into place. It should be good to go in about 3 weeks. Now for the ribs 4 broken it hurts to lay in bed so I'm sleeping in my recliner for now it will take a few weeks for them get better. I am at work today sore but I'm here thank God.

This should be a good way to convince everyone to use a harness in your treestand and not remove it until your feet hit the ground.
I was over at Scott's this evening and he has already looked into a rope and prussic knot so that he is always attached to the tree when climbing. You may spend a little money getting everything you need to be safe and complain about it, but at least you get home every night safely.

Not only good for tree stands, but any where that hight is a safety factor..
