I ordered one of these a few days ago. Dont know when it will get here, but it is coming. I got it in .204 Ruger. Trying to decide what optics to put on it. I am thinking something with a BDC/multi-range type reticle for ease of target acquisition.Might look into Vortex first and then check a few others too.

Of course you may want something with more magnification.

SWFA.com has the 2-7x32 for 169.95 with BDC reticle. but they are discontinuing that model. Of course i think it has a lifetime warranty, so if something went wrong, i guess they would fix it or give you a credit towards another scope.

SWFA also has the 6.5-20X44 for $250 discontinued as well

Congrats Doc! The model 10 is a great rifle and Vortex is making some real nice scopes. I love the red dot I bought for the AR. The link you posted isn't working, at least for me, but I believe this is the rifle your talking about. Don

Congrats Doc.... recently purchased me a Savage Model 110. Straight shooting gun, right out of the box.

Nope. I was told they are behind. I am buying direct it from our sales rep. I will post up pics when I get it.

I was thinking about it the other day when I was at a gun shop. I saw a Savage Mod. 10 Precision Carbine in .308. It has digital camo, the Accu-trigger and Accu-stock along with the oversized bolt handle and detachable magazine. It was calling to me, but I resisted....for now. I ran out of gun room in the safe about 5 rifles ago and they're doubled up in there now. Don

I have a few things already. IMR8208xbr powder and some Sierra 39gr Blitzkings. I have been reading and Benchmark, RL10X and Varget have all been recommended. BL-C2 has been the one I see the most and usually the highest velocities. I am going to try the 8208 because of the consistency of speeds and small group sizes at all temps(so they say). The Hodgdon Annual Manual shows a max speed of 3754 with the 8208 and a 40gr bullet. If I'm not happy with the 8208, I wouldn't mind trying some Superformance powder.

Not whole lot of data for the IMR8208xbr powder just yet, but it does look like it was made for this cartridge. I also have a lot of Varget, some H322, and BL-C2 I'd like to try. I took a look at my supplies and find that I've got 700 Rem. small rifle match primers. The 40gr. bullets are ideal for the 1-12" twist, but I'm still debating which to buy. I ordered a DNZ scope mount for the rifle and will probably mount a Simmons Aetec 4-16X44 SF that I already have. It should be great watching shots hit for a change. Don
