Doc, If I remember correctly, they were only available in two of the Weatherby chamberings, the .300 and .257 Weatherby magnums. There are a load of other cartridges for which they're chambered, including some Winchester short mags. The Vanguard actions are made by Howa. They are shipped to the USA and the stocks are added. The Vanguard was one of the first to come out with an accuracy warranty, 3 shots at 100 yards with factory ammo under 1.5". They sell them with a proof target right in the box. The same rifle once wore a Smith and Wesson name and also Mossberg. Don

I dream of owning a HENRY Big Boy, leaver action. 44Mag.. With fiber optic sights.. The stock would be Black Cherry, or Oak.. Must have a Sling, factory mounted. . As I mentioned in HIGH MOUNTAIN, The Henry Big Boy can be had engraved.. That is a nice Rifle. -- Here Is my Wish Rifle, without the Sling.. Might become a reality..

Guess it's not gonna happen $ 160.00 Sales tax, is a bit much for a toy... Will never buy a new Car, for the same reason.. I have often said, that if the Sales tax was capped at $ 100.00 purchase, that the merchants would do a lot better business. I will start checking Pawn Shops, and Used gun dealers for a good used BIG BOY. 357, or 44mag.. Keep your eyes open for one, OK ?

Go to Shelbyville and look for Shelbyville Pawn and Loan. They can order you any rifle, shotgun or pistol you want for 10% above cost. Great place to go and very nice people. They also have a large selection of new and used guns.

Jer, Here's a place online to look. You would need to have the rifle shipped to a local FFL and pay them a fee, but check every day they always get new entries and you might get lucky on a good used Henry. www.gunsamerica.com/BrowseCategory/712/Henry.htm

Mine is a Barret M82A1 with a US Optics SN3 T-Pal 3.2-17x44mm scope. Used one in the military and fell in love. The scope is new but the reviews are great.
