i'll be honest with you guys...the best way to hunt these lake WMA's is to get a lil john boat and park it on the bank and walk in from the backside. and dont go to the islands...believe it or not they actually get a lot of hunting pressure.

I have to go in for the Christmas party at work and I was out late at a concert last night. I am off untill Jan. 2 though and plan on hunting every day after Christmas so maybe we can get together then. Let me know. Also, I don't have your number. Nobody put their number down on the sign in sheet. LOL

I went to the WMA off Lamar road, just off Jefferson Pike. I arrived and had set up by 5.30am, Dec 24th. I saw 2 other trucks in the parking lot. At 6.10 some oaf came stomping through the woods, making a hell of a noise and using a bright , white lighted flashlight. He set up 200 yards in front of me, other side of a field. I watched him till he left at 10.30, he couldn't keep freekin still!!! He ruint my hunt. Anyway, I scouted my way back to the truck, my first muzzleloading hunt over. I had no way to unload the rifle and so I blew a big hole in the field, unloaded!! I also found a killer place for my next hunt there. I met another couple of hunters back at the parking lot, nice fellas. I drove out the gravel road to the paved road, Lamar road. I hadn't driven 20 yards down Lamar, towards Jefferson, when I noticed a house with 2 of those stupid deer lawn ornaments. Imagine my reaction when the lawn ornaments took off running, there was a third beside the yard in the woods. This has been a common theme for me hunting public land. I leave and see deer while driving home. Could it be that the deer are smarter than we think? Who gave them a copy of the 2007 hunting regs, WMA maps, seasons etc? I think Peta are giving the deer information.
