I loaded up 15 rounds today. 56.5gr(5), 57.5gr(5) and 58.5gr(5). I would liked to have shot them, but it started raining around noon and hasnt let up.

I saw them, they look real purdy! I hope they shoot half as well as they look, if so they'll be deadly. Need to chrono those loads Doc.

I didnt get all 15 rounds fired, but I did get 10 of them. I went to Julians today for lunch to try and get them all tested, but with barrel cooling, it took longer than expected. I managed to shoot the 56.5gr and 57.5gr loads. No excessive pressure signs noticed. Groups- FPS listed are 5 shot Avg. 56.5gr- 2758fps- (3 shot) .646" (5 shot) 1.58"- 1 flyer, shooters fault 57.5gr- 2773fps- (3 shot) .470" (5 shot) 1.15"- 2 flyers, possible barrel heating   |

Looks real good Doc! I usually shoot 3 shot groups, but many prefer 5 shot or even 10 shot. I don't believe I'll ever shoot more than three shots at any game, but as I've said before, I've never been boar hunting. LOL! Seriously your going to look at those groups, which are excellent by the way, and wonder how you can improve on them. That's the catch with reloading. Your always looking to improve your loads.

I love the groups. I want a little more speed, which I am hoping to get out of the last load. I was hoping for close to 3000fps.
I was looking at the reloaders nest and saw a few loads with up to 60gr of powder. If the 58.5gr's doesnt show pressure signs, I will step it up in .5gr increments and see how close I get to 3000.

I shot the last 5 today.Nice and cold to help with barrel overheating. Didnt take long for it to cool off between shots. I got some pressure signs, so this is the max load I am planning on shooting with this bullet. Groups- FPS listed is 5 shot Avg. 58.5gr- 2832fps- (3 shot) .451" (5 shot) .992"- One "flyer" is before I scrapped off the center of the target for visibility purposes.  Here is a pic of the handload(bottom) next to a factory load(top).  |

Thanks. I really like this load out of all of them. Now I just need to go back to my brothers and load up some more. The sad thing is, today was the last day of deer season and I wont get to test it out on one until this coming fall. Oh well, there is always hogs. ;D
