I've been thinking of getting the dies for .45 ACP, but I can buy 100 rounds of Winchester 230gr.FMJs at Walmart for 34 bucks, and 50 round boxes of JHPs for a little less.
Powder, primers, and heads have gone through the roof... price wise lately, and I can't believe I can still buy rounds at these prices.
Just wondering what everyone else was doing.

Spiker, Given today's prices that doesn't sound like a bad deal at all. The price of components has gone through the roof and that's when your able to find them. Most suppliers are sold out on the most popular pistol and even rifle bullets and brass. Just try to find primers, let alone benchrest primers. I just looked at Midway and they are completely sold out of large pistol primers. Not only don't you get a choice, you can't get any. This has been a banner year for gun and ammo sales and it has dried up supplies across the board, hopefully not for too long. Many people that have been loading for years saw this coming and stockpiled, of course that also helped to dry up supplies. Luckily I was one of those that stocked up. In short, not only would I buy them, I'd buy lots of them. Don

Locally, the only primers available ARE the pistol caliber ones.... NOT a good situation. And I've heard more and more retail sellers that I buy from are saying their suppliers are claiming more than a year for backorder filling for the rifle primers.
