Federal Premium Ammunition has their new 2007 interactive ballistics calculator available. It allows you to search their products based on cartridge and use, also giving you various charts on which to compare the selected ammuntion's performance. It can be downloaded and has a handy desktop link. Don www.federalpremium.com/resources/ballistics_application.aspx

Remington has something similar too, they're both useful. Remington's is also downloadable and is called Remington Shoot. I use them both as a reference before sighting in a rifle. EG. The load I shoot in 223, if I set the sight to shoot 1.5" high at 100 yards it's dead on for 200 yards and is within 2" all along the bullet path.

Hornady also has a "Ballistics Resource" for use. This may be more for reloading, but it is still good info to have at your finger tips. www.hornady.com/ballistics/

I really love the fact that you listed the link that really is a big help in knowing how your gun will shoot and everyone should look and study what they shoot and know how it shoots. thanks for the info.

With an assist! Here's a link to that Remington info: www.remington.com/products/ammunition/ballistics/I like to write the bullet drop at different distances on a small piece of blue easy release masking tape and put it on the top of the stock for a quick reference if needed. Don

I've seen alot of photos of hunters that handload with the ballistic tables taped to the butt stock of their rifles.

That ballistics comparison chart on the Remington site is great for helping you make up your mind on what caliber you want. They let you put in three different cartridges and compare them for energy, bullet drop and velocity over various ranges. Some cartridges really surprise you in when compared side by side. Don

Sounds good. I have them bookmarked and I'll bet I use the Remington link at least every week. It's a lot easier than pulling out reloading manuals and paging back and forth to compare different cartridges. Boy do I have a lot of shooting related bookmarks! Don

Very pretty little program. I have a ballistic calculator on my iPhone. That is a great program where you can put in your handloads as well. I can't believe all the things you can do with an iPhone, it is an amazing beast! This program also downloads your current location and conditions to give you the results. All I need now is something to shoot at!
