There has been a lot of talk lately about Berger VLD long range bullets and how well they work for hunting. They were not originally designed for hunting, but the expansion characteristics are ideal for that purpose. I had asked Berger if they had any plans to make these bullets in a .277 caliber and received some good news from them just the other day. Don
We are actually in the process making .270 bullets right now. The first one will be the 130gr. VLD. We will follow it with a 140gr. and a 150 gr. We have tested all of the tooling, and the bullets should be finished by the end of Dec. or beginning of Jan.

I am guessing that you will be loading some ammo using these bullets once they come out?

I am guessing that you will be loading some ammo using these bullets once they come out? I'll be sure to let you know how they shoot a few days after they're made available. ;D I'm really interested to see how they work long range. These Berger VLD bullets have amazingly high ballistic coefficients, especially when compared to most .270 bullets. They were designed with long range target work in mind, but they have proven to drop critters with the best of them. I've often wondered why the .270 was never used in long range target competitions. The lack of a bullet with the right design may have been the reason. Until now! Don
