I am goin to get me a new side arm and I was wondering what yall think. I am already set that I am geting a 40sw caliber. I was thinkin about getting a Glock model 22. Down fall I dont care for the safety system on the gun ,but the up side is its light(great for packin in the hills) it also holds 15 in the clip and I hear it is extremly reliable. It will be in the price range between 480-500.so whats yall think...

i like glocks, but in my opinion they are kinda heavy for carry. I used to have a model 30 in .45 auto. They will shoot what ever you put in them and they are extremely reliable. i just dont like the weight it has. .40 S&W is a great cal. to shoot and it has good stopping power.

your welcome. one thing is we only have 13 members which, here lately is growing weekly. also i answered because i used to own a glock. i kinda wish i hadnt sold mine but im glad i did. for packing in the hills it will be a good choice in cal. and pistol. as for carrying as a CC i stated my feelings in the earlier post. if im not wrong you also get 2 clips with a new one, hopefully a used one too if the previous owner wasnt stingy. as stated previously also, you load it in it and it will shoot it. the more powerful, the more it likes it.

Glock 36. Not quite sure what you are talking about for too much weight with a glock, Doc...but they are some of the lighter autos out there that have that kind of capacity. I'm carrying/using the 36, which is the smallest/least cap of any Glock and I love it.
It replaced my 1991A1 for carry. The learning curve came with the differing triggers, but it wasn't hard.
One thing is these short barrels are LOUD!!!

Well, I have held some other Glocks that were lighter. I carried it a few times but knew it was there the whole time. I liked the caliber of the pistol, the heavy bullets it shot, and I actually did like the trigger pull. I think it was 3.5 or 4 lbs. if I remember right. I also had troubles with the mags. not holding 10 rounds. I had to force the 10th one in, so I just loaded 9 and one in the chamber. I even loaded one with 10 and let it sit for a week thinking it would do something with the spring. Nope. I do like the smaller framed Glocks though.

10pointer, how's the Glock treating you? It hasn't blown up or anything? I said that in total jest, as I have stated in other places my feelings towards this. I must say that the only thing that I can negatively say about your pick is the caliber. I shot a 22 once, and really didn't care for the recoil impulse. That caliber didn't impress me that way.

I havent shot the glock in awhile. But I still love it to death. Well I guess I shot it when I had to put one in my elk.
The 22 defently has some kick but hey you cant when em all.
And bubba I still have my hand so nope no blow up yet. ;D

I never carried a sidearm in the army, but have shot the 1911 and the M92 (BB gun) while I was still in the army. I am a jail deputy now and we are issued Glock 22's. We lock them up when we get to work and take them back out when we go home. The patrol deputies and investigators all carry Sig's.
I have a HK USP45 that I bought used. I used to think it was best thing going. I always carry it everywhere unless I am at work. I hate to say it, but I kind of like the Glock just as well.

I have the Glock 17, 9mm, and am quite satisfied with it. I've had it for a number of years now and can report only a few things that I wish were different. One is the magazine clips. I have the original high cap clips. I think they would have done better if they would have put a stop in the bottom and reduced the capacity by two bullets. Up to that point everything is fine. Those last two bullets seem to exceed the strength of the top of the clip and they become stretched rather easily. I've heard that the new lower cap clips don't have this problem and also heard that they modified the design on the high cap clips to fix this. I don't know. Though, initially skeptical about the trigger safety, after understanding the inner working of the firearm and years of use, I have found it to be worthy. The firearm is also remarkably accurate for a "piece of plastic". I've killed a variety of predator and nuisance animals with it and one rabbit. Hope to take a whitetail deer with it one day. Hunted with it several times but haven't succeeded yet. Probably don't hunt with it enough. Overall, I'd recommend it to anyone considering getting one. The other thing I wish was different are the factory sights, but I guess that is the case with a lot of firearms. They can be changed. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine.

My son has a couple of Glocks, as well as my Son-inlaw.. They swear by them. I wouldn't want one.. Too far after my time. I like the feel of metal.. I would suggest that you keep looking, and when that gun comes along that you can't live without, you will know it. same as me. ;D
