I picked up a used Glock model 23 on Thursday. It's not much to look at, some finish wear on the slide, but it's in good working order and came at a good price. Neither the gun dealer nor myself knew the pistol was wearing Tritium sights. I only found out after I went to bed with the pistol on the night stand. The three dot sights glow like nobodies business at night. I don't know how many years these things keep glowing, but these sights are perfect setup for a nighstand companion. Don

I have always wanted some of these. I found a sweet light at a local pawn shop for $60 that goes on the rail on front of some of the modern semi-autos. There is also a version with a light and a laser... the price jumps to $200..... I'll take the Tritium sights anyday.

Those tritiums are better than a light. At least in my book of limited knowledge. At least you don't project where you are, unless you want to. A light should be another tool, but you can see where you are pointed with night sights without telling the BG where you are....and a laser isn't any better. Besides, there is NO additional bulk on the gun. BIG plus for carrying. .....I miss my 36 more every day......

Bubba, I actually went to the gun shop to order one of your beloved Model 36 Glocks, that is until I saw this Model 23 for $229 less. Alright go ahead and call me cheap! ;D I still might go back for a 36 after X-mas. Don

I'm glad that you took the deal. I'm starting to really almost get an ulcer (almost) over my missing 36. And especially when I think of how it shot and what I paid for it.....(icon for kicking myself in the arse)

I think you commented on how you may feel in another thread at another forum....could be wrong though... ...and just what are you talking about? Seriously, the glock would've stood the test of time with me. And well, the XD....isn't missed nearly as much. Not for what I wanted in a carry pistol. The XD was a great pistol, just not what I look for in a carry piece. Now I'm getting REALLY used to my S&W 19 .357 for carrying. It actually does fit my rotund areas pretty well.

I think he may be referring to my post saying that I could never get used to the Glock triggers. That hasn't changed, I still don't like them as compared to the DA/SA or SA triggers. As long as I don't plan to use it for hunting or target shooting I'm fine with it. If I'm shooting within the expected 7 yards or less range, the trigger isn't gonna matter all that much to me. At 25 yards or so I can still reliably hit a target, just don't expect tiny little groups. At one point I had both a Colt Commander and a Colt 6" Python. I could outshoot that Python easily with the Commander. The Commander wasn't a more accurate handgun by any means, but I could use the SA trigger so much better. It was my first centerfire handgun and just what I first became used to shooting. Don

I was reffering to when you traded your Glock. I was searching for the exact comment, but have yet to find it. This isnt exact, but you stated that you were probably going to miss it(the Glock) and that you would probably kick yourself in the rear for it eventually....or something along those lines.

I'd say the same thing about that Colt series 70 Combat Commander and the 6" Colt Royal Blue Python, along with about 100 other guns! The fact is that I can't affords to own them all at the same time, so I'm forced to play with just a few at a time. That is the shame of it all. Don

YUP YUP YUP!!!!! And you know, I can't find the posting either... alot about the trading of the Glock for the XD, and the XD trade off, but nothing about the regret of losing the Glock. There is one downside to all of my excitement, and it has to do with my beloved Glock 36. The 36 no longer resides in my possession anymore, as it became trading fodder in this deal. I just decided that the Glock was to be replaced by something that worked/felt that much better. That is as close as I could get from here.

I took a look through all my postings here, and couldn't find anything. Maybe we are just telepathically linked, and you are getting my thoughts.
