Has anyone ever hunted there? They have their own permit you buy. Its 24,000 acres and has 3 Bowhunting segments and one g/m/a fer 4 days only. Can take 3 deer eithersex per segment during Bow and one antlered Buck in g/m/l hunt. All of these are bonus deer, its unit A but WMA regs rule. I will be going up and scout it. I have a small V hull boat with outboard and trolling motor. So it should be very accessible and can get away from all the vehicle and foot traffic. 10 deer and they can all legally be Bucks and none count off on yer state limit! ;D Can you say rack galore and freezer meat to boot!

if thats really how the regs are set up then i dopubt there are very many bucks running around at all! i've been up there before to duck hunt and the entire area is super flat...like kansas flat. there aint no hills anywhere. but maybe you can get back in one of them sloughs where its tough for most people to get to and find yourself a couple nice bucks. let us know how it looks.
ps-make sure you go in super early so that you dont mess up the duck hunters. this is prime time for duck hunting and they all think they own the lake.

I have been reading up on it and the refuge is above green island. Below is the wma, now i haven't been there yet. The hybrid map shows alot of timber and sloughs. The regs say 3 either sex deer per segment, all bonus. The only required antlered Buck is during the 4 day gun hunt. I was saying with the way it reads a person could legally take 10 Bucks all bonus deer. I doubt if i will pass up any deer, cause i always need freezer meat! ;D So first come is first served. Evidently not many people hunt up there fer deer.

Total harvest up to today is 66! I don't think many folks want hunt with only a Bow. I have been shoved out of what little land i got to hunt on. Some of it is because people around here complaining of guns and unsafe use. Just had my ladder stand taken. They shot cable and lock in two. The place acrossed the road got leased out on first gun season. I did get to hunt with ML's first season. I hunt mostly with CB. I do like use my ML's in their season and in gun season.

I personally don't care about messing up duck hunters. I am more worried they will mess up my good Bow hunting!

i was just saying that people pay big money and come from all across the nation to duck hunt at reelfoot, just be considerate of them and they should return the favor. get in early so you dont mess them up and they should see you boat and avoid you too.

If you have your Sportsman, then there are no special permits needed. I would like to hunt more WMA's than my local ones.
