I got my hands on some Federal Vital Shok 150s for my .30-06, and I decided to put a few holes in paper. VERY impressed, and I have found by brand.
I don't have pics (kinda had a little issue with a sudden downpour that drenched everything, including the target. I gathered my gun and headed for home, I left the target hanging. I do NOT like getting my gun wet unnessesarily. )
NOTE: All shots were taken at 100 yards, and were done over a rest.
Five shots, the first two were touching holes, and another two just a little high and right. A third was a flier that was my own fault. (I got stung by a wasp as I was putting pressure on the trigger.)
This is NOT the first time my gun has shown a little high and right when she gets warmed up, but out of the first and second shot, she is dead on the money.
Looks like I have found a hunting round for the upcoming season. Now I just need to practice offhand, etc.

RR, I'm glad you were able to find a load you like, It can be quite a quest sometimes. If I didn't reload, Federal would be my brand of choice. Unlike many other companies, Federal only sells ammo. If they want to add up the profits, they have to make ammo hunters want. They have a really good selection of some premium bullets. I had a bit of a problem with my Stevens 200 30-06 this past week. I was working up loads using Barnes 168gr. bullets and I loaded a few just a bit too long. They did fit and chamber okay, but when I shot the first one I immediately knew the pressure was too high. The bolt wouldn't open and when I finally got it open I noticed the ejector on the bolt face was broke. It will still shoot, but the empty cases just sort of bobble out and the case head shows a mark where the pressure is forcing some brass into the ejector hole. It's an easy fix, about $9.00 in parts from Midway, but the ejector springs are on back order so I'll have to wait a bit to fix it. Don
