It will be, when I get the custom laser etched "Cobra" grips on it... ;D But seriously, no. In NY it is illegal to carry a firearm afield while in possession of a bow. It's hard to swing a bow in a dark hallway, and have the same effect as a laser dot/flashlight complete with slide locking sound if you get my meaning.

I really like those Taurus 1911's. Got one at work and at $629, it is well worth the price. If it stays much longer it may be mine. I just have a tough choice of the PT1911 or the PT145.

It's a real sweet piece though. I'm also looking forward to a review.

One thing I've found is that top of the line 1911s will usually have forged frames as compared to investment cast. I'm not saying anything is wrong with investment cast, Ruger has made many great revolvers in pioneering the use of investment cast frames. I would say that forged is better and many companies will charge the same price for investment cast as others will for forged. I agree on the forged frames. I wouldn't have gotten a Taurus otherwise. The only other concern are the many MIM parts that are popping up on even the pricier brands, and models. The main upgrades that people are doing to their Taurus 1911s are changing out the ambi safety, extractor claw, magazines, and magazine well, grips (of course), and even the firing pin with Wilson Combat, and Ed Brown parts. www.wilsoncombat.com/index_1911_part_acc.htmI'll probably get the magazines, and well to start out with, and only change out what needs to be.....wait, I'm lying to myself...I love accessories, and parts...I won't be able to help myself, I know it. Hey, another advantage of the 1911 model is the .22 conversion kit. You can save a ton of money, and develop proper form at the same time. www.wilsoncombat.com/a_22_conversion.asp

I finally got a holster for my PT1911 ALR. What a search it turned into. Taurus has to make a rail fatter than all the other 1911s just to make things tough. It looks like Taurus got into the holster business, but they didn't. Here it finally is: Some company in Israel makes it, and disributes it through Glen Zanders Sporting Goods in ILL. Except... they do not deal with the public, so I found R&R Arms, who can get it from them, and send it to you....for a fee..lol www.rrarms.com/catalog.php?prod=60062The funny thing is that it shipped from Zanders.
