Given the uncertainties of the upcoming election in regards to President that's firearm friendly or not, I decided it was time to order a high cap wonder nine. This pistol features 17+1 capacity and an interchangeable backstrap to fit most all hands. I've read a lot of good reviews of the S&W M&P line of pistols, especially in the areas of ergonomics, dependability and accuracy, so I decided to order one today. Best of all is that its MADE In The USA! This is S&Ws third attempt at a decent polymer framed gun and it appears they finally got it right. The Springfield Arms XD Tactical was also in the running, but in the end I decided on the S&W. Hopefully I'll have it in a week. Here's one article by Jeff Quinn. I've discussed guns with him on another forum and he's a regular guy with a great website called gunblast.com. His reviews are usually right on the money and very dependable. You can translate that into him not owing his loyalty or living to any gun manufacturer like so many gun magazine writers. Best of all guys, he lives in Tennessee! www.gunblast.com/SW_MP9.htmDon

He does have good reviews. If I need to find out info on a rifle or pistol, I look there. Congrats on the new addition to the family.

While visiting S&W's website, I found a rebate coupon for the M&P pistol. They will send you your choice of $30.00 cash back or two of their magazines. Well this didn't take too much thought. The 17 round magazines sell for $41.00 each on their website, so two new mags it will be. So with the two mags that come with the pistol and these two rebate mags and of course one round in the chamber, that gives me 69 loaded rounds. That's a lot of shootin'! Don

Doc, I'm sort of debating with myself on that. 9mm ammo is fairly cheap. Not that any ammo is cheap anymore, but at least it's cheap as compared to others. I'll probably buy dies for it to load practice ammo and use factory premium defensive ammo in it for carry. Don

Doc, After reading this, www.theboxotruth.com/docs/edu6.htm, I think I might just end up shooting cheap factory 9mm ammo for practice and carry premium factory loads after I test their dependability in this pistol. Don

A bit of disappointment today. The Pistol won't be delivered until the middle of this coming week. I thought I'd be shooting it by now! I don't think I've ever waited more than a week for an ordered gun. Until now that is. Don
