???Anyone know anything about a Rossi single shot 223, are they worth a flip?

They can be pretty accurate, but they can also be crap. Alot depends on the ammo and the shooter. First thing I would do, is to take it to a gunsmith and have them drop the trigger pull to 3lb. Once that is done, your groups should tighten up.

For the money, I'd buy a Savage Stevens. The Stevens is a bolt action that you can gaurantee will be accurate. Same as a Savage minus accutrigger. The Rossi/HR type rifles are a lottery, some shoot, some don't. The Stevens is available at less than $300 many places, so there is a small price difference for a much better rifle. All in my humble opinion of course.

Well, I bought this from a friend who going thru a divorce, has lost everything and needed $250.00 for gas to Houston for a job. It does have a nice scope but what do you hunt with it besides yotes?

I think the Rossi single shot rifles came out as Brazil's answer to the H+R/NEF Handi rifle. Neither rifle will ever be used in competition nor will they be considered top of the line, but both are very good at what they were meant to do, fill the freezer. Don

Thanks Don, I going and get all the info and put it in classified. I would like to yote hunt because there are many of them around here but I just don't have the energy.
