I put a deposit on a new pocket pistol today, a made in the USA Kel-Tec PF-9 7+1 shot 9mm Luger that weighs a mere 12.7oz. empty and 15.5oz. with a loaded mag. This is a hammer fired double action only pistol that measures 5.85" long and .88" wide. This will be my third Kel-Tec. I previously owned their P40 and currently have a P32. I've never had a failure of any kind with a Kel-Tec pistol and hopefully this pistol will hold true to that record. The trigger pull on this newest of Kel-Tec's pistol offerings, is much improved over their previous pistols. My only problem to date with a Kel-Tec was with the P40s sight which shot lose and was replaced free of charge within a week by Kel-Tec's excellent customer service. The pistol should give good power from a very small package. I hope to pick it up in a week or two. Review from Gunblast: www.gunblast.com/Kel-Tec9mm.htmDon

Kel-Tec has really come a long way in the opinion part of the market since they started out. At first they were kinda scary for many, due to the "plastic" part of their designs, but have definitely put themselves in an enviable postion in the marketplace with their products.
I've been impressed with every product of theirs that I've looked at, and the ones that I've fired have really impressed me moreso.

In the past their triggers were horribly heavy and had a very long pull, but people put up with them to get these extreme lightweight and small concealable pistols. These hammer fired pistols are a vast improvement on the old triggers. I tried their P11 9mm side by side with this PF9 and the P11s striker fired trigger hasn't changed from the P40 that I had owned. The trigger pull on the PF9 is still long, but much smoother and lighter. Don

I recently sold a P11 as the trigger pull was awful. I'd be interested to try that new one and see how much they've improved.

Kel-Tec does have a bad habit of releasing guns to the public before all the quirks are worked out however they do stand behind them and any fixes they come up with are added to guns that are returned for problems. I just wish they worked out the problems before releasing the guns. I wouldn't buy one of their products that hadn't been on the market for a while. I already ordered two magazines directly from Kel-Tec. I'll have to put a few hundred rounds through the PF-9 before I'll trust it for carry and most of the time it will be playing back up for my regular carry guns. Don
