I need some official help if someone can direct me please. I was told by a fellow coon hunter of my son's that if you trade a dog without "trying it out" or "hunting it first" just on someone's word, and it doesn't "turn out" or does not do what they say it will that you have a number of days to trade back or make that party trade back, give your dog back, etc. in the state of Tennessee. We are currently in this situation. A man just "saw while driving by our home" that my 14 year old son had coon dogs and asked him to trade, fed him a wonderful line, had a triple purple ribbon registered female dog and talked him in to trading. I told him I would rather he did not, but being a young boy he wanted a registered dog and made the trade. This dog did absolutely not "turn out". Now we called to ask to make the trade back and the guy tells me it's his father-in-laws dog and they made a fair trade. He did not tell anyone it wasn't his dog to trade to start with and I explained this to him and explained that my son was a minor, only 14 years old. After 2 days of dealing with this and chasing him down on the internet, letting him know that we knew where he lived we traded back. For future purpose I would like to know if there truly is a law allowing so many days to return, retrade, whatever it is called if this happens. Please help and Thank you!
