I ordered a new Taurus PT24/7 in .45acp last night after seeking the advise of a friend and Taurus aficionado (Thanks Doc!). I ordered it online through Davidson's Gallery of Guns. That's the same company that I ordered my Marlin 45/70 through. Here's a stock photo. Don

SWEET... Ive been talking about them since they came out... Been dying to get one... I love a good Taurus. That the Pro?
When I get one, ill probably get the 9mm. double stacked clip I believe holds 18 +1... If not its 17 + 1

Thanks, yes it is the Pro. I also considered the PT145 Millennium Pro, the compact version of the PT24/7, PT24/7 OSS and their new PT845. Taurus does have quite a line up of handguns to pick from! Don

how do you like the handgrip?
I would assume with the cartridge capacity this weapon is made for larger handed people... I prefer a good sized hand grip.

Its not as big as you may think George. I find the grip quite comfortable on the 9mm and .40 S&W models.

Have you looked into a holster for it yet? I had a fun time finding one for my PT1911 AR. Taurus makes their rails a little fatter than all the other railed guns out there making it tough to find a holster. Here's where I found mine. If they don't have one here, go to the Taurus site, and there's a bunch of fanatics who can help you out. www.rrarms.com/catalog.php?action=1022www.taurusarmed.net/forums/index.php

Fed Ex finally delivered my pistol this afternoon so I was able to pick it up from my local FFL. This is their new Stainless and black slide which comes not with the straight eight sights, but rather a three dot set up with a serrated face which I'm more used to and so prefer. I would rather see larger dots, but these will work. The DA trigger pull is very smooth at 7 1/2#s and the SA has a long take up but breaks nicely at 5#s. I'm a large guy, but the grip fits me just fine, much better than a Glock, but not quite as nice as my S+W M+P 9. I appreciate the hooked trigger guard for a two hand hold. Empty magazines drop free as they should. I disassembled and reassembled without a catch. The action was filthy so it got a good cleaning. I have a Don Hume holster on order through www.gunnersalley.com/s=gunnersalley.com/ So far I couldn't be happier with the looks and function of the gun. Now all I need some serious range time! Don

Blackhawk is coming out with a Serpa, if it hasnt already hit the market, for 24/7's. I absolutley love these holsters and wish they had one for my PT111.

Doc, I did look at Blackhawk while deciding what to get for this pistol and didn't see anything for it yet. It's funny, but Galco lists the 9mm and .40 S+W 24/7s separately from the .45acp version. Makes me think they hold their holsters to a higher standard of fit than many others. Don

I like the Serpa because you get multiple holsters in one. You can go from a belt holster to a paddle holster by removing 3 screws. You can change the cant of the pistol by removing the same 3 screws and tipping the holster forward or back. You can also adjust both the belt and paddle parts to fit your belt depending on its size. Its a great system.

Couldn't agree more on the Serpa! Got one for my Glock 20C, and couldn't be more happy with it.
