Okay -- who has seen what? I hunt in Fayette County in west Tn. Have been having to hunt mid-days, due to work/kids schedules, and really haven't seen much. I guess the weather here has been too warm for much movement, but I have been noticing alot more rubs. I'm looking for signs of rut, or prerut. Anyone seeing any? Are the bucks still in bachelor groups? Any info will be helpful.

In Middle TN i have seen quite a few deer, but i have been hunting mornings and evenings. I have seen some bucks chasing, but also still seeing bachelor groups. started seeing more rubs and a few scrapes, but i would guess it is still about 10 days away. Hopefully just about the time ML starts

i havent seen a deer from stand since i hunted in Ky on Oct. 14th. been on 11 hunts in a row without seeing a single deer. and thats been spread out over 4 different farms. i think a lot of the movement is nocturnal. although yeserday i did find a scrape(first one in TN) and some mack-daddyrubs. made a mock scrape 3 days ago on a farm off hwy. 96. threw some leaves over top of it and, as of this morning, the leaves had been cleared away. seems things are starting to pick up. if i had to guess, id say after this full-moon passes the activity will really increase.

Thanks for the replies - just trying to penpoint the rut so I can use my remaining sick days wisely. ;D 11 hunts without seeing a deer? That must be tough - makes me feel a bit better though.

I've seen a bunch of does and a few bucks both in Williamson Co and Benton Co, afraid I won't see ship Saturday AM. Young boy and I mean young had a ten pointer in the back of his dad's truck out in front of Shooters in Camden Sat. morning. Good looking rack. The kid was high fiving all us drooling adults.

well i saw 4 bucks and 1 doe yesterday morning, all between 8am and 9am. two spikes that came in from different directions to some rattling. met up at the base of the tree and snort-wheezed at eachother before the bigger one run the other off. about 15 min later i had a doe walk by at 60 yards and running up behind her was a young 4pt. about 20 min after that i had a 2yr old 14" wide 6pt come in on the trail of that doe.
saw a buck and doe dead on 840 on my way to work this afternoon. seems the full moon has got a few of them going pretty good. Its about to get RIGHT!
10 days and counting til i head to Carlisle County, Kentucky for an entire week with my dad and best friend!

My buddy hunting in north Fayette County sent me a text at first light reporting a 6 point was chasing does in the field. 5 minutes later he quit texting saying things were getting too busy. Hopefully this cold snap will do the trick, as I have yet to see much rut action personally.

In Hickman Co there are tons of rubs and scrapes, but only young deer chasing, they may be a few days-week behind us. The 10 I shot was alone and was spotted the day before with a bigger deer. I figure it has to be kicking off full throttle in the next day or so. I haven't hunted Mid TN since opening weekend.
