I spent this morning working on my well. The pump quit last night so I bought a new one, replaced the old and still have a problem. I get some water, but nothing above 10lbs. so the control switch doesn't kick off and the pump continuously runs. I dragged that pump out twice today from 100' down to no avail. I gave up and turned the breaker off for now. It's snowing and expected to pile up to 12" or more so I'm done messing with that #@&*%$ pump for today. Maybe I'll take to the bottle! Don

Dragged the pump out again today, removed the new pump and took a look at the check valve. Sure enough the check valve was shot and probably caused the original pump to burn out. I replaced it and everything is back in working order. What a pain in the butt dragging that pipe out of the well! Don

By doing it myself and not calling the well driller, I probably saved enough to buy a gun. Mmmmm! Don

Way to go on saving the money for a new gun!! What will it be next??? Varmint rifle(.204 uger)? Over sized(.375 Ruger)? Rimfire(.17 HMR)? You know I really should have seen this coming. I had bought a new Simmons Aetec 4-14x44 with side focus and didn't have a gun to mount it on. So the survey says walking varmint rifle! Lightweight, yet capable of good accuracy. I have been studying on the .204 a bit recently. There aren't as many manufacturers chambering the .204 as my other choices. Very good varmint cartridge though, but light bullets if there is any wind at all. Sure is the other end of the spectrum from the .500 S+W Mag. LOL!! The .22-250 is another I've never owned or reloaded. Of course the .223 is always a good choice and I have enough brass to fill a shopping bag. Rifle and available twist rates may end up deciding the cartridge for me. Don
