I figured I would post this incase some of you have these rifles. I do and the only time I had the rifle discharge without me touching the trigger is when I adjusted the trigger pull a little to light. I corrected it by adjusting the trigger up from a little over 2lbs to 3lbs. No problems since. If you have a Remington 700 and are scared it will go off unexpectedly, by an after market trigger. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/39762676/ns/business-cnbc_tv

This has been an ongoing, in my opinion, non-issue for quite a few years. A few accusations have made it a gun grabbers delight. Like most rifles, if the trigger is adjusted too light, they become a danger. Don

Several people have been killed from this trigger "problem". As mentioned by a several people on another forum, a firearm safety rule was broken. No deaths would have happened if the firearms was treated as if it was loaded(which they were) and kept pointed in a safe direction. I would almost bet my next pay check that all the problems did stem from people adjusting the trigger to light.

Well I guess when I leaned me 30 years ago in Hunters ED that you should not point a gun at anything you don't want a hole in it wasn't BS now was it? Aside from that, Does the 700 have malfunctions? I don't personally know of any ever. I know at least 10 people that own them and have acquaintances with many more. No one has ever said they have had a malfunction.

Remington's Response!!! I think it is great and proves just how bad the liberal media wants to make firearms manufacturers look bad by only showing what they want the non-hunting/shooting public to see. They basically say what Don and I did about the triggers. The majority of the problems stem from people adjusting the trigger to light.

Doc, Great video, thanks for sharing it. Imagine, CNBC having a left wing anti-gun agenda. Who would have ever thought it? LOL!! Just so I can do my part in keeping the public safe, I'm willing to accept any Mod. 700 of which anyone has reason to fear. Just ship it my way and I'll take on the burden. Don

I am with Don on this. If you have a Remington 700 and think it will go off prematurely, I will be glad to take it off your hands. I'll offer to pay the shipping to my house just to help you out.
