Back as a kid and teen growing up in Michigan...
We would get up at 4:30 or so thanksgiving morning and meet several other family members at a local restaurant.. There would me my dad my brother all of our uncles a few cousins and even a few aunts.
We all eat breakfast the drive to the hunting area one of my uncles farms or sometimes state land. After a quick briefing we all head to our chosen stands for a few hours.. After a few hours of sitting we would meet back at the trucks for quick bite and plan out mid-morning. The mid-morning hunt usually consisted of deer drives.. While we were all hunting the women who didn't hunt were back at my uncles cooking the Thanksgiving day meal. Around noon or so we would all load up and go eat, afterwords some would go back out and hunt till dark other would nap or watch football.
Sometimes I miss those times most of my uncles are gone my dad is too old to hunt, most of the family still lives in Michigan.
I was the youngest one of the group and the only one that still hunts. I mostly hunt alone now my teenage son doesn't like to get of bed..
I still keep up the thanksgiving hunting tradition just modified it a bit.. Now I help the wife prepare the meal and after we eat I load and head to deer camp.

We just went to granny's and spent the day eating, hanging out with family and watching football.
