After two days of fanfare, Ruger announced on Monday the introduction of a new compact 9mm pistol, the LC9. www.ruger.com/products/lc9/models.html When I first saw this new pistol, that Ruger says we're all going to want, I thought okay here's a new Kel Tec PF9 with a Ruger label. Today Jeff Quinn of GunBlast www.gunblast.com/Ruger-LC9.htm did a review of this new pistol and he gave it very good review. I asked Jeff if he thought the new Ruger was so good that I should trade in my PF9 and this was his answer: "I see no reason to ever trade off a gun. You can always use it for a backup. I like the PF9, and have had one for years, but the trigger pinches my finger. Just a personal thing. I prefer the LC9, but do really like Kel-Tec products, such as the SU-16c and the RFB. The new shotgun is very innovative. Kel-Tec has some great designs, but they just do not have the manufacturing capacity to produce weapons to meet mass demand. _________________ Jeff Quinn gunblast.comSo maybe Ruger was right and I do need one! I think I'll wait a while though and make sure any problems get wrung out. It is a very refined looking little gun compared to the KelTec Don

We have been trying since the introduction of the Kel-Tec PMR-30 to get one at the store. It was the same with the Ruger LCP and LCR. We only had to wait about 5-6 months to get an LCP and almost a year to get the LCR. I hope this pistol isnt in the same boat.

I've heard that they've learned from their past mistakes that marketing needs to be more in sync with supply. Time will tell. I'm still hoping that Ruger will announce an anniversary SR1911 at the upcoming 2011 Shot Show. Don
