I scout through February and then scout a little during turkey season, but I usually lay off till July or August. I haven't been able to start this year, because my truck has been broke down, but i got it fixed and i'm fixin to get out there. anyone else started and what are you seeing?

I went out Saturday to run my boat and look around. I found some decent sign, but could not see any acorns on the trees. When I was in NW SC over the 4th they were just starting to show up. maybe they will show up here. all in all I think i found another decent spot on priest.

I saw a buck the other evening and think I may be able to go in and kill some deer there during archery.

I don't bow hunt so I have to wait for rifle season to hunt deer. Rifle season starts right after Thanksgiving here in PA. and the temperatures and food sources change so much from what we have during the Summer that I don't think the deer will behave in the same manner. I like to get out after the weather cools down in October and scout for sign.

What i have learned about Priest is if you think no one else knows about a particular spot you are A) probably wrong and B) even if you don't see many people there, someone is studying a map or sees something and decides to hunt there eventually. However there are places that get less pressure than others, but of course as soon as you park your boat there, someone will think about hunting there.

We just got a new place to hunt on and I have only had one day out there but I seen 4 does and most of them where small. I would like to get out there more but I am stuck in grand rapids MI right now with work. I am still not sure how this place will work out yet but as soon as I get back to TN I plan on getting out there and looking around better.

Hey Tenndeer,
weren't you the one that was looking for a lease in or around Wilson County? If so it appears you found something. If it is in your area there will be deer on it. whether or not there will be an big bucks is another thing, but in your are there are plenty of deer and turkey.
