Our local NWTF banquet was last night and I attended. I go because they have their firearms transferred to the store I work at and I get free entry and food and because I like winning stuff. There were 3 guns that I was after. A Kimber Custom II .45ACP, a Howa/Nikko Sterling .22-250 camo'd combo, and a Rossi Circuit Judge .45LC/.410. I tried the hardest for the Howa, but ended up winning the Circuit Judge(.45LC/.410 3").
Well, today after work, I went to my brothers to eat some fresh fish. After we ate, I broke out the new rifle and shot it a few times. My brother and I stood at 25yds, in fading light, and shot a fantastic rifle. I shot the first 3 shots and hit a bull, touching the bull and one shot that was about 2" away(I didnt cock the hammer). I let my brother shoot the last 2. He really liked it. I then let my niece(16) and my brothers girl friend shoot it and they both really liked it. I then tried some 2.5" .410 shells. They didnt perform that well at 25yds, but did ok at 15yds. I think the rifling is more suited for .410 slugs it is #8's. The rifle came with two chokes, a smooth one for .45's/shotshells and one for slugs. It also came with a scope base attached, fiber optic 3 dot sights and a hammer spur(way to think Rossi).
Over all, I think it would make a great truck gun and a 50yd deer rifle with some stouter .45LC loads. The rifling and 18" bbl has to much spin for the shot to stay together(it slings it outward) once it leaves the gun. The .45LC is accurate from what I have seen in low light shooting and has a pleasant recoil. I think I may pull the 1.25-4 x 20 Leupold off my .44 Mag and see what this rifle will do with it.
