I picked up a new rifle today. It's a Weatherby Vanguard Sporter in 7mm Rem Mag. The Sporter has a walnut stock with a rosewood forend cap with a satin finish and blued action. The rifle comes with a factory shot 100 yard target. This one had a .88" 3 shot group. Pretty good for factory ammo through a rifle that wasn't broken in yet. The factory adjusted trigger pull measured 4.25lbs, but can be lowered. I want to shoot it a bit and see how I like it. I usually run them down to 3.5lbs., but this trigger has no creep and is very crisp so I might just leave it as is. I did mount a Leupold 2.5-8 scope on it and bore sighted it. Once I've done a bit of break in shooting, I have two boxes of Barnes 140gr. XLC-BT bullets and one box of Nosler 160gr. Accubond bullets to load up. The Barnes bullets should move along at 3200FPS and the Noslers at 3000FPS. It should make a good longer range rifle. I hope to get out to the range with it this weekend. Don
