I don't plan it this way, but when I least expect it I run across a good deal that I just can't pass on. Today it was a Savage 12FV-S in .223. I've been wanting another varmint rifle and this one was NIB at a price that couldn't be passed up, so I dropped a deposit on it. It is a pre-AccuTrigger, but I can either work on the trigger or get an aftermarket one if the original is too bad. I've heard a lot of good things about the accuracy of Savage rifles lately. I hope this one is a shooter. Don

The accuracy of Savage has snuck up on me too. I had heard they were a good rifle, but as of late seem to be giving Remington a run for their money on out of the box accuracy. I have never shot their old trigger but hear it is pretty rough. I do like the accu-trigger system. My boss bought one of their combos from Wal-mart and it is a tack driver. Keep us updated on the trigger and what you do about it. A nice field report would be awesome too.
