I found this on a military sight that I visit and this then young man is good. Marine Sniper by Eric Foran, 15 years old (1994)
Gunny Hathcock as a country boy, Was his father's pride and joy. Hunting in the woods was his favorite play, He would sit outside and shoot all day.
Now listen to a tale I have to tell, Of a young man the Marines trained well. At Paris Island he was a boot, But the best thing he learned was how to shoot.
The Marines they said he would be the best, He practiced hard and out shot the rest. To Camp Perry, Ohio he went one day, Champion he became shooting that way.
To Vietnam, he was shipped one day, And ended up sniping in a town called Hue. ( pronounced "way" ) He jumped from a chopper in a hot L.Z., Looked down his sight and shot a V.C..
From the top of the hill he would take his aim, Shooting Viet Cong was his game. Gunny Hathcock, he would lay in the grass, He'd look down his barrel and smoke their ........
Carlos Hathcock, the best sniper around, One that always held his ground. He risked his life in every way, So the NVA would really pay.
