wish i had seen it. I love .308's. Ive never owned one but have shot one and absolutely fell in love with it.. I need to get one one day, but with a 243 and 7mm already...why do I need one? ;D

I got a 100.00 in this gun and it shoots great. Never know when I might need to take a long distant shot.

The only thing i dont like, and this is just personal preference, is the clip... I dont like clips sticking out the bottom of my rifles, except my 22lr..
Since I mentioned the clip...how many rounds does it hold?

Nice looking rifle ya have,8-10 rounds in clip. Don't need any more in yer pocket while hunting.

That gun has some fine looking markings that give it character!! Nice job!!. BTW-Check the states regs for max shell count. Here in MI it's 3 and you don't want to get caught with more.

The regulations are 3 here also have another clip that fixed with a machine screw and epoxy that will only hold 3 shells.

I know, and I've wanted one of those worse than the .308 version ever since I first seen them. At the time I get close to one, the thought of "why another 45/70???" comes into my mind....never understood that logic when I've already 3 minimum on hand.

Probably the same reason I have 3 30-30.The last one I bought is a winchester in has only 4 serial numbers the guy I got it from bought it in california in the 50's.I looked the gun up on the net the web site set the make date around early 1900's.
