I went out this afternoon to shoot my .270 and make sure that ir was shooting properly and make any changes needed. First 2 shots were high right. I pulled the caps off the adjustment knobs and when I turned the L-R knob, everything turned. I tightened it back up, made the appropriate adjustments and made a few more shots. They were all over the paper. Time to see about a replacement scope. I have another scope here, but it has a 50mm objective and I will probably have to change out my rings to some high ones, but it can be done. I have had this scope on the rifle since I bought it and havent had a problem until now. Looks like Simmons will be getting a call....you read that right, Simmons. They arent high end scopes, but they have performed flawlessly for me until now. Time to see what kind of customer service they have.

They arent high end scopes, but they have performed flawlessly for me until now. "flawlessly for me until now"-That sounds like the dying utterance of a man who just missed a follow up shot and got mauled by a ticked off bear! Don't get me wrong, I have some low end scopes, but they ain't goin' hunting with me. Good enough for target work or varmint shooting, but for anything else do yourself a favor and save for a good one even if it's used or a lower power. Don

I have had the same Simmons on my .30-30 for 21 years now and it hasnt messed up yet. I have even dropped it a few times. Maybe they were made better back then, but I still like that scope. I dont know what the deal is with this one other than maybe I got a bad one. I want to get a Leupold scope for sure, but I have other wants too and it isnt at the top of the list right now. I replaced it with the scope off my .204. It fit fortunately(2.5-10x50) without me having to get new rings. Now I just need to sight it in and save enough ammo to hunt with. I have to make a special trip to buy it, as the only place that carries it is 30 miles away. I just hope they have it if I need it. I have a buddy that lives in that town and can look for me with a phone call.

I hate it when scopes magically get knocked off. I had my .243 get messed up this year and not sure why. I had to do a resight session and I was not happy about it.. I got it back sighted, but want to shoot it again to see if its still ok.. I will need to shoot my ML as well and make sure it is OK... I hope I dont need to buy another scope. I cant see me buying these scopes that cost more than my gun
