I had placed a Ruger 96/44 on layaway SEVERAL months ago(more like a year ago). I figured that the pawnshop would have removed it from their inventory and put it back on the shelf by now. I went in the other day(Fri.) and looked around and asked them about it. It had been removed from the hold list, but the young man behind the counter said that he hadn't seen it on the rack. He walked back to the back and came back out 30 sec. later holding the rifle I had put on hold. I went ahead and bought it since I was standing there and had the money. It had a price of $400 on it and I had already paid $175. I paid the difference, filled out the paper work, got approved by Insta-check and was on my way.
The rifle came with a BSA 3-9x40 scope mounted on it. That had to go immediately. Fri. evening, I surfed the internet looking for a new scope to mount on it and decided on either a fixed power scope or a low power, adjustable scope. I knew what brand I wanted, I just didnt know which model, so off to the Leupold website I go. I decided on the Leupold European-30 1.25-4x20mm. I looked on several websites at prices and then decided to contact a buddy of mine about a price. I got up Sat. morning and called my friend about the scope and he quoted me a price that was any where from $29-$124 cheaper than the other places I had looked. I told him that I wanted it and he said for me to call him when I dropped the check in the mail and that he would drop the scope in the mail at the same time. I contacted him this evening(Mon.) and left a message on his machine.
Once I get the scope in, I will post a new pic of it mounted on the rifle. Until then, I have a pic of the rifle and a seperate pic of the scope from the Leupold website.
