I wasn't shopping for a new rifle, but Dick's had a sale on the Stevens 200 in .270 and 30-06 and I couldn't pass it up. $229.99! I'll have to read up on Jack O'Conner's favorite cartridge. Don

The .270 is one of my favorite calibers for deer hunting. It was the first round I used to hunt deer with and what I now own. I dont think you will be disappointed. Also, if you get it and need some loads, let me know as my brother handloads for it and has some already made up.

Nice going on the price. I'll stick with the .30 and .45 calibers, as they make invisible souls and tasty meat!!!!

Even if I decided I didn't like the .270, which I doubt, it is still a Savage long action for $229. Barrels are easily changed on these guns and available from several sources as new take offs. There are a lot of nice stocks made for this also. Don
