There are only a handful of pistol cartridges I would use for deer, the 9mm isn't among them. Put in the right place I'm sure it would work, but I believe it is underpowered for the job. If your dead set on using it, I'd suggest that you limit yourself to shots under 50 yds for the best results. Don

This is for the HI-Point Rifle.. Hollow point is 90 Gr. and FMJ is 124 Gr. If I use the Rifle for deer, I think that I would use the FMJ & go for a Head shot, within 35 yds. More than likely, I would use my Winchester 12 Ga, with the Fiber optic sites..

You cannot use FMJ to hunt with in TN.

I am going to get some lead heads for my 9mm some day so I can carry my 9mm for a sidearm..
