I just went and sighted it in at clover patch. After 3rd shot 2 big Does got up and had to get some yonder! ;D .44 mag. lightweight thing hurt my left shoulder badly. Its good to go out to 75 yds. Can't see that fer where i am hunting anyway. I just can't handle that hard recoil on bad shoulder anymore.

No thank you! I didn't know my shoulder was that bad. Certainly not getting a 45/70. I am becoming a wu$$.

Anyway you could learn to shoot from the other shoulder? I know it wouldn't be easy, but faced with not shooting anymore I think I'd suffer through the transition. Handgun hunting may also be a viable alternative. Don

sorry to hear about the shoulder. I would try doing what Don suggested. It could work.
