When Remington initially issued the 710 they knew there was a problem with the bolt binding up and added some sort of teflon impregnated pads to help it glide along a bit better. Unfortunately the problem while lessened was not completely alleviated. Sorry to say, but to the best of my knowledge Remington never did come up with a permanent fix for the problem other than discontinuing the model and releasing the new Model 770. Your best bet would be to contact their local authorized repair center and see what they have to say about it. Here's the name, address and phone number for your local Remington authorized repair center. I hope they're able to help, please let me know how it works out for you. Don

My wife has one of these in youth model. I applied a little Rem Oil to the bolt and it works wonders! Still doesn't make it a Sako but a lot easier to rack.
