Thanks psycho, may invest in a block and tackle for next season. Funny thing was that I shot it and then called my wife to bring the 4 wheeler. She turned up and another deer came close to us while we were loading it up. She grabbed my rifle, desperate to get her first deer. She was somewhat pissed with me when I told her it was outta ammo.

They have a sale on a Gambrel in Walmart which I bought yesterday. The Gambrel has a built in scale and 4* pulley system for $15!! I am now processing in my garage. According to the scale dressed weight is 105 pounds and I can believe it, it's damned heavy. First time to do this solo. Bullet went in through the chest, through chest cavity and took out the other side front leg. Now I know what people mean by "turns to mush" The old song "when the bullet hits the bone" takes on new meaning too. As an old man of 45 I should have done this hundereds of times but never had the opportunity till I moved to TN. Man, I love it. Gotta get me some coyotes now, big time.

I've done that before with a truck and have used a 4wheeler as well to pull it up. I also use the winch on my 4wheeler to pull the hide off of the deer. And yes I am a redneck.
I don't think the term "redneck" applies to "where you live" but more of "how you live." I have met rednecks from Canada. Which is above Michigan if my compass serves me correctly.
