I sent Outdoorsman a link to an ad off Craigs list yesterday about a lease in Hickman County. I can't find it now but if you PM me I can give you the contact phone number.
Outdoorsman did you check it out?

OYD, if you will look in the real estate classifieds on Sundays, there are ads for leases on occasion. I see leases for Hickman, Dickson, Perry and Humphrey Cos., give that a try, however it is hit or miss.

OYD, look in the Friday Tennessean classifieds page 35, second column HUNTING/FISHING, Middle TN hunting land 18 to 350 acres, $10.00/acre. 931-359-9818 Mon/Fri 8:30 to 4:30.

$10/acre, they better have been managing it for several years and have foodplots and such. Along with some good deer. If they dont have any of that and it is a new lease, they are robbing you. Avg price for a lease should be $3-5. It goes up from there based on what is there, ie. foodplots, stands, good management(at least 5 years), etc

As Joe Friday said, "Just the facts". Don't shoot the messenger, only passing on information, so it is up to him to make his deal. There were more in Sunday's paper.

I am just trying to provide info so that he can make a good choice. There are people out there offering lease property at high prices, just because it is in Unit L where the deer population is high. If there is a high price involved, then there needs to be things already in place and not just some land to hunt.

Looking at reality, 10.00 per acre is 180.00 for 18 acres. I paid over 400.00 for expenses to hunt 35 acres that is 67 miles from home. If the 18 acres is only a short drive, and it can be looked at for Deer sign, then, 18 acres is plenty of space to hunt, especially when other hunters are moving Deer from the other acres..

18 acres?? It can be done, but by who?? I know that I am part of a 953 acre lease that is 2 hours away, have approx 1100 acres to hunt here in middle tenn and am always looking for more. That doesnt include the WMA's that I hunt on occasion.

18 acres can be done best by an old fart like me, without a 4 Wheeler...

18 acres would be ok if it was in the city limits and the deer didn't have much else to go, but even then you would have to not put too much pressure on the area. Of course if you had no where else to go it would be better than nothing.
