I doubt I'd be lucky enough to get number one, just one somewhere between that and number 501. It don't matter much though, it will still be a special number to me. Davidson's did a special version of the 336 in .30/30 that was dressed up just like this, they sold out before I ever got a chance at one, but that ain't gonna happen for me this time. This one just appeared on their site last night and I didn't leave nothin' to chance. Don

Glad you caught it and hope it performs. I think Bubba's SBDB has a running mate now.

NICE... I like that too... Doesn't N0.1 always wind up as the manufacturers Museum Piece ?

NICE... I like that too... Doesn't N0.1 always wind up as the manufacturers Museum Piece ? Davidson's does a lot of these type of special editions, both with Marlin and Ruger. I would think if anyone gets number one it would either be someone at Davidsons or one of their best selling dealers. Don

I just completed what has become for me a new standard whenever I purchase a new rifle. I sent for a DNZ scope mount. While I was at it I also ordered a Wild West Guns trigger for this rifle. I've read great reports on these triggers and often looked at getting one for other Marlins, but never did. This time I didn't hesitate. Don

I think Bubba's SBDB has a running mate now. I went back a few posts and found that Bubba's SBDB was cut down to 16 1/4", the exact same barrel length as this rifle. Don

Don yours is going to be the prettier rifle though. I like that stainless laminated look. The marlins in 308 and 338 look mighty interesting to me. The fact that I have the same calibers in bolt action and an empty bank account make me hesitant to purchase. They look awesome though, maybe one day...

The fact that I have the same calibers in bolt action and an empty bank account make me hesitant to purchase. They look awesome though, maybe one day... To be honest I prefer the looks of a nice walnut and deeply blued rifle, but the practicality of S.S. and either a laminate or synthetic stocked rifle has me leaning in that direction lately. I wouldn't buy any of the Marlin/Hornady rifles until they make the reloading components available to us reloaders. One thing I did find interesting in Marlin's catalog was that the 336MXLR designed to take advantage of the 30/30 Leverevolution ammo has a barrel with a different rifling rate of twist than their other 30/30s. FedEx says the rifle was delivered to my dealer this morning. Unfortunately the dealer closed at noon today, will of course be closed for the New Year tomorrow, so I can't pick it up 'til Friday. I think I'll be camping out there when the doors open! LOL The Happy Trigger kit, Bear Proof extractor from Wild West Guns and DNZ Game Reaper scope mount was delivered today from Midway. So at least I'll have all of that ready when I get the rifle. Don

Don Actually, mine is just a bit on the shorter side than that, but not by much. CONGRATS!!!! I would love to get a set of stocks in the laminate style for mine, and stainless would be a plus......just would have to get over the straights grip. Now you need to get rid of that SCOPE! and put a set of opens on there!!!!!! Get ready for the "ball 'o fire" when activating. I suggest doing that at 'O dark thirty or so, it is much more impressive. ;D
