That is looks great. I really like how the finish turned out.
I like to take and strip the varnish or lacquer off of wood stocks and then rub them down woth nemerous coats of linseed oil. Some times I strip them of all varnishes and stain and then put the stain of choice on it. I then take and put linseed oil on it until I get tired of rubbing, then put more on the next day until I am tired of rubbing. So forth and so on......

Thanks guys! I've done a lot of shooting with that rifle and it's one of my favorites to take hunting. I've had a lot of different rifles and pistols that I've sold or traded, but this one always keeps it's place in my safe. I had a Marlin 1895G before I bought this, but once I used this single shot, the Marlin got traded. Don

Time for an update on what I like to shoot. Here's a couple of pics of the two guns that I like to shoot currently. Or more correctly, my hunting rifle and another that is classified as a "Short Barrelled Distributor of Badness" (thanks, Kelsey!). Here's a picture of my two 1895's. Along with a Red Ryder thrown in for measuring purposes. A pic showing the difference in barrel length between the two 1895's. The mods so far include a Limbsaver recoil pad, barrel cut to 16 1/2 inches, and Williams receiver sight with Firesight front. More additions are on the way too... I'm just not quite sure exactly what and when they are going to happen. And yes, it is fun to shoot!!! Handles like a little dream!

And after seeing your Buff Classic for the first time BB, I really like how it turned out also. Very nice wood and nice job on the finish.
I'll have to get pics put up of my Marlin .22 that I redid the stock on. I'd have to include the wife on the redoing part, as I just can't seem to get the original finish off no matter what I do. She comes in and does in 20 minutes what I can't do in an hour with finish stripper... I can do everything but that for some reason.

Thanks for sharing the pics Bubba. I like the looks of both of them, but the short one seems to catch my eye better than the longer one. Keep us updated as to any improvements you make and how it shoots once you find the "perfect load".

Bubba, Talk about beautiful wood, I love the grain in that table. Any way we could sort of split that up for some fancy stock makin'? If your like me, it wouldn't be your first trip to the doghouse! Don

I use my Winchester Ranger, mod 140 Shotgun, It is 12 GA. Semi, with a 28" barrel Interchangeable Choke tubes.. I had the sites changed to Fiber optic, with the rear Adjustable site moved 12" up the Barrel. I have never missed a DEER with it. I also have a HI POINT 9mm semi that looks like the H K rifle shown on this post.. Haven't hunted it yet.. .

Guess I might as well get in here again. I 'm Stuck on my Winchester ranger mod. 140 12 Ga. with the custom sites. The Rifle that I loved most, and Sold to a Collector, was a 303 British Enfield, Un customized, with Bayonet, and Sling. The Rifle was zeroed in at 300 yds. One day My son, set his hat on the hillside, 1000, ft from the House, and challenged me to hit it. The bullet, split the visor, and took the side out of his hat... I bought that Rifle for $ 45.00. Would buy another in a minute, if the price wasn't so high now.

! I'm a small bore kind of guy, my wife might not agree I love the 223, Tikka Varmint and Bushmaster Varminter at my local shooting range!! They are joined by a Tikka in 308, Rem 7400 in 30-06, Marlin 17hmr, H&R 204 Ruger, usual 22lr and assorted shotguns, smooth and rifled barrels. The Tikka's are fantastic and a 243 will be taking up residence before long. Considering the T3 Hunter in that new fangled material, wood!!! I really like the synthetic stocks for durability and consistent POI but ...we'll see
